Back of the Class

I write for the students that sit in the back of the class,

the misread, unchallenged students,

the subtle girl in the back just trying to pass,

do you ever wonder what we think of

while the clock ticks pass the hourglass,

actions speak louder than words

and these verbs hold a greater mass,

abstract thoughts that flow right through our daily journals,

bags underneath our eyes because

we think better when we're nocturnal,

don't judge a book by it's cover,

because there is always something better to discover,

take a chance and pick us when we raise our hand,

take a stand and see us for who we are and understand,

Understand.
