Back Door Break


"You can't smoke life With a filter," He said slowly; The skinny grey serpent fingers Snaked out from his mouth And their rolled white womb As they ran themselves into nothing, Up into the pins-in-the-lungs cold. "It ends up tasting of paper And only making you linger A little longer than you'd like."
