Back to grey

It’s a grey day at the office again today

Sit up straight

No one’s looking

I close my eyes…

An explosion of color

Daydreaming at it’s finest

Birds in the sky

The bluest blue of a sky

The puff of clouds

What do you see? A dog? A ship?

Imagination stirring

Here comes the wind

Bringing life to the trees, the grass, the leaves

Don’t forget the sun

That light, that radiant light

Slowly meeting the horizon

Its dusk

Work is done

And it’s okay to sink

Sink into the colors

There’s a sound

Light and sweet

It’s not stopping

A clock that’s ticking?

A horse that’s walking?

A constant tapping

It’s lost its sweetness

Go away

This is my daydream

Where’s the wind, the clouds, the dancing leaves?

A sigh

I open my eyes

A shoe goes up and down, up and down

Tap, tap

I give my best apologetic face

And the shoes walk away

Back to work

Back to grey
