It’s been awhile

I’ve kept the thoughts inside

Bouncing around in my head

They’re like daggers in my back

Holding me down

And keeping me under water

I drown

The blank page beckons me

It calls my name

Begs me to share

So I write

Whatever comes to mind

It spills out on the blank page

The words come together

The letters march across the page

Like ants across a yard

My mind is clear now

With everything out in the open

I never share

But somehow

It is better
