Back Row

You don’t know my name

Been in here a whole fucking year

Fifteen kids plus me

I know I don’t talk

But do you notice I listen?

No texting under the desk

Shouldn’t be personal

I'm just another number

Just another year

A letter grade with a face

Blending into the wallpaper

But school is all I know how to do

No friends here to know my name

Except maybe you

But my listening gets me nowhere
