Backbone

Stuggle is to be expected

But when is enough, enough?

You know it won't be easy

But should it be this tough?

You stay because you can't imagine

Starting back at square one

This is what you've bulit

So you just accept what it has become

Excuses are made to justify

All the decisions made

It could be better, but it could be worse

Maybe one day the doubt will fade

The future holds uncertainty

And this is comfortable for now

So you silence the skepticism

Even when it's unbaribly loud

There might be somone out there better for you

But it's not a guarantee

So self imprisonment is employed

Cause without them you don't know who you would be

And you're too scared to find out

Too scared to be alone

Too scared to take control of your life

When the ending is unknown

So you settle

And your life probably won't turn out bad

But you resent them

For holding you back from what you could've had

So what's it really worth,

Living the "ideal" life?

When you're living it with the wrong person in your head

And the wrong person by your side?
