Backward Fairytales
Backward Fairytales
Imagination is the heart of fairytales.
Talking teapots.
Giant beanstalks.
Sleeping forever.
Magical worlds that go away never.
Fabricated stories that are extremely happy even when bad things happen,
Leading us to believe our lives must be lacking.
With no Prince Charming and no glass slippers,
But dresses with ripped zippers and fake Gucci slippers.
Trying to cut off the reality to a dream we always had.
Making ourselves think were happy just for a good laugh,
But fairytales aren't living in dreams or being a certain look.
It's slapping closed the book and taking what can be took.
The beauty you possess ripped from the hands of princess views.
The braveness portrayed being stolen to kneel the crown at your shoes.
The happiness throughout taken and put to a snooze.
The obsessive smiling and singing being thrown in the trash to cliche boo's.
Constant support for you to just be you.
So no, fairytales aren't the life we want to lead
Because without happy endings were free to be who we want everyone to see.
