Bad Habits
I am a bad habit. A don’t learn, don’t listen, bad habit.
Hurt too many times, hurt too many people
I’m a desperate, destructive Bad Habit.
I am addict
I am open, begging veins.
I rattle these Morse code hands and hope the messages reach God’s feet;
Feed me.
Your seeing what I am, not what I was, what I’ve been made into…
…Her name was finest on the block. I had to have it.
This body has felt withdrawal, been withdrawn, overdose-”You’re over doing it”
I am addict. It was worth it.
I am soul searcher
Soul observing; I’m observant.
Stalking steps, shadowing smiles
I’m looking for those lost,
It helps to be in good company
I am the street doctor, crooked smile.
stealing parts and trading scars.
I am selfish redemption, tainted justice.
I am Crocodile Tears. Indian giver
Manipulative intentions, harmful invention.
I am tiring
Touching stoves to make sure it’s hot, five different times.
Because all my habits are comforting, like mother’s touch, like favorite drink
No surprises, familiar hurt.
Like knowing how the story ends before it starts
I am a lot of bad habits.
