Bad Habits

I’m sorry if I hurt you

It wasn’t truly my intent

Sometimes I just get blinded

By the hard truths that you’ve said

And though I’m doing my best

I know my best isn’t always perfect

So you’ll have to grant me pardon

When I show my helplessness

Oh, I have faith in this relationship

And I know we can see it through

We just need some understanding

Then our strength will be renewed

Cuz I’m not done

And I am so in love with you

Compared to him, I am much better

But that is just a bad excuse

For all the times I didn’t listen

Or thought I knew much better than you

Because deep down I fear

When I look into the mirror

I’l see parts of him in me and

That’s not what I want to hear

Oh, possibilities and small discrepencies

In all I say and all I do

I never wish to hurt, deceive your eyes

Ashamed, I admit, at times, it’s true

But I’m not done

And I hope that neither are you

When the ugliness of my pride

Or the thinking that I’m right

Covers the facts between us two

I try to open up my heart

To find the weakness deep inside

But that is often so hard to do

But I would do anything for you.
