Bad Times

Amid this agonizing hurt

Do I want to know,

that my child felt no pain?

These lawmakers must be insane

To peddle the untruth and inhumane

Do I want to know that hate, is the reason

my child’s no longer here?

Do I want to know,

was it hate or was it his parannoying fear?

Amid this agonizing hurt,

The truth I cannot skirt

So, let me be very LOUD and very CLEAR

Did the POPO really fear for his life?

That he would not return home to his wife

Or, was it his legendary hate

for the beauty of a blackness

For which he could never relate?

Did he even care

Before spilt blood waft in the air

That my child would grow up

And be somebody?

A politician,

a lawya, a doctor

or heaven forbid, a police

One better than he

I long to know

How in this world

Can any life, so meaningless be?

The reason my child died

This mother's one last plea

Dear God, I pray

You'd help me to see
