Ball Literally Is Life
Dribble, dribble, dribble; a monotonous rhythm
Of rubber bouncing against the hardwood.
Thump, Thump, thump; a montonous rhythm
Of the organ pumping inside my chest.
The same rhythm, the same life force.
Ball literally is life.
Blood, sweat, and tears, and the same old cliches,
But they all still apply; the heart doesn't lie.
Getting buckets and taking breaths,
Exerting strength until there's absolutely nothing left,
Leaving it all out on the court is the only option.
Scoring and succeeding, life is full of points
Whether it's two or three, a layup or a slam dunk,
Ball is literally life.
