Ballad of the Deranged

Death has never scared me,

not even in my youth.

So to see their final breath,

makes me realize my truth.

They hunt and try to find me

as I carry out my fate.

But they always fail to catch me,

Until it’s quite too late.

For me the bloods a beauty,

the screaming and the cries.

Their begging for forgiveness,

The terror inside their eyes.

So while they think my mind is twisted,

so cold, and dim, and stark.

They’ll never understand,

Life’s light has beauty when it’s dark.
