A Ballerina's War

Look left Look right On your toes In position One chance This is easy? Wait for minutes The minutes turn to hours Wait for an eternity Until it is time I am right on pointe Perfection is my mission They say this is easy Eyes watching me Lights in my eyes Watching Glaring Waiting Judging One step out of place and it is all over One second out of time and it is over One chance for perfection They think this is easy They sit waiting Watching every move you make Waiting for you to make a mistake Watching every step you take They want Perfection Last chance In their mind they say That is easy Can they do this Few can do this Few have the courage Few have strength Few have the desire Very few reach perfection You think this is easy Can your body handle the pain Can your mind handle the stress Can you handle the disappointment Can you handle the critisizim Can you handle Perfection This is not easy You cannot take back what you have done You never get another chance You know you are not perfect You think this is easy? The music ends The curtain closes You are not perfection Yet they applaud They know nothing The hardest thing about this… Making it look easy )
