Ballet Boy

We live our simple lives lacking any fear

Knowing full well the end is truly near

But we should we acknowledge the fear we know?

This audience can be far scarier than the show

Life is hard but people make it worse

Disadvantaged, stolen like a little old ladies purse

Cutting their dreamest like the sharpest knife

From a girl bullied half her fucking life

"I just want to be happy", she cries in the night

Barely getting out of bed and losing the fight

That puts her to her knees like she's praying to the man

While her hands cover her face and the tears just ran

She has it hard and deserves much better

Than whatever her god could've given her

But there's also the boy losing his dad

And being beaten and bruised cause daddy is mad

He just wants to be loved I beg you that's all

I don't want to be handsome or rich or tall

Why couldn't you love me you arrogant prick

You built up my walls brick by brick

I guess it doesn't matter anymore anyway

Because as it comes to the end of each day

I'm better without you, I'm not your ballet boy

And you can't play and break me like some child's toy

I'm better off without you, I'll say it again

You can get out of my twisted brain

I'm better without you, you're not coming back

My dreams and memories are tied in a sack

and left in a room all by itself

where my dad has his own little shelf

But you're not my dad, at least not anymore

Not since you walked out and slammed the door

Or pushed me down the stairs while drunk and enraged

I didn't see this wrong until I finally aged

And grew up to realise you torn my innocence

Thrown away easily like a spare twenty cents

It's taken me seventeen years to see who you are

And to realise the man who drove that car

Wasn't a loving father, a loving caring man

He was a parasite in my life, infecting where it can

Cause you still try to rain on my parade

Then resent me like an underpaid house-maid

Get out of my life before I kill you I swear

I will, I'll drag you by your non-existent hair

Because the pain I felt is corrupting my mind

And almost lost the happiness I couldn't find

That I found lost the happiness I couldn't find

That I found in someone else much sweeter and kind

Who makes me feel loved like I'm her king

And one day I'm gonna hear that pretty girl sing

I'm better off without you, you almost broke me

But I'm not some weak boy, you don't know me

I'm better off without you, much stronger than you

You haven't seen half the shit I've been through

I'm better off without you, you're not coming back

I hope one day you have a heart attack

Cause you broke this boys heart, you left him alone

Those are your sins and you cannot atone.
