Banana

Banana

Imagine yourself as a banana

Growing up knowing your only purpose

is to fulfill someone else’s needs.

Your whole life means absolutely nothing.

Your sole purpose is to be poked and prodded

Judged by your color and size

Then to be taken away and violated

Having your outermost layer

ripped away from you

as if it were meaningless,

The only thing that made you feel safe

In a world where no one cared how you felt.

You’re naked, vulnerable, and helpless.

Hands wrap around you

You want to scream at the top of your lungs for help

The pain you feel as they force themself onto you

Every bite and every swallow

Piece by piece you’re drifting away

And in your last thoughts you wonder

Why?

Why me?

Why us?

Are we just not strong enough?

But you realize you are just a banana

This is your purpose
