Bandaid

I woke up on the wrong side of my mind,
leaving me was always a thought,
you said I wasn’t all that blind,
that my mind was all I fought.

wanting to get drunk to your voice,
hearing you say all those sweet quotes,
I knew I always had a choice,
but nostalgia lives in your abandoned coat.

not to mention the messages I have saved,
the coffee mug fresh every day,
the nights it was you I craved,
just to hear your calming shore,
not to mention the love in my heart,
too warm and full for a bandaid.
