Bare

I’m open Fully exposed You see all of me To you, nothing is closed I’m revealed Nothing left hidden Couldn’t take it back if I tried You see the forbidden I am bare Body and soul shown Makes me uncomfortable, insecure You see what only I’ve known I turn away ashamed Ugly, disgusting, hideous, the gross one I’m a disaster, broken to pieces A pitiful excuse of a person I wish to retract my exposure Don’t cast your eyes upon me My imperfections, so many, so toxic Who I am, nobody should see I cover what I can Hide from your view I loathe who I am, what I am I can never be worthy of you Unsuccessful in my covering, I give up I lay down my head and weep Face of a monster with a hue of black I’m horrendous; dreams of me break child’s sleep Lock away my being, conceal it Destroy the key for this horror, this existent None will have to again witness these evils A blemish on mankind, God’s infamous misprint Belong here I do not Villainous I am to plague you with my presence Wish to die. Filled to the brim with guilt Shouldn’t have to deal with me, my essence You’re pure, untouchable None can match your perfection My shadow casts upon you And I corrupt the world with my infection I steal a quick, undeserved glance Hoping to view a glimpse of what you think I see many emotions, thoughts, ideas All in the span of a blink I see your beauty, completely unparalleled That could never be missed For that reason alone, You would have been swiftly kissed On you I see truth It hangs on you like angel’s wings Why should you be with a devil Who only foulness brings? The grace that surrounds you overwhelms It just adds to my inadequacy Only further proves My tremendous fallacy The fallacy that I believed You could want to be With someone as grotesque, As gruesome as me In you I see compassion I see utmost love and care Obviously not for me, But someone who’s earned their share Something grave is missing As I study your unwavering eyes It’s the lock I expected The look of utter despise What did you do with it? Are you just an actor so complex? A magician of emotions? Here one moment, gone the next? Because it’s just not possible That you could enjoy my person I’ve been cursed by God To be more despicable than Satan It’s a perfect masquerade Hide disgust behind a mask I know it’s there, somewhere Finding it is just the task Where could it be? No appearance it’s made It can’t not be there Of that the world forbade You can’t not hate me It’s never been done I’m only used to being Cast out, shunned by everyone Your smile lies Of this I swear You have to loathe me, right? Or could you actually, care But that’s nonsense You’d be an utter fool Can’t be me, a nobody Nothing more than Lucifer’s tool I’ve don’t nothing right Nothing to deserve this blessing This body so impure You must surely be jesting But those furnace warmed eyes Ever so convincing Soft, gentle, still Direct and unflinching They bring forth hope Something unknown to me But such a convincing look How can I not see? Your love is genuine Although I resist Such a thought so impractical It does truly exist As though to remove all doubt And become open to me You do so with your apparel You let go and are free For this I wasn’t prepared Such elegance I’ve never seen It took me by great surprise This change, so extreme I quake with nervosity The view shakes me inside Because you’re bare With nothing to hide You calm my convulsions directly Enveloping me and pulling near It calms my nerves, my thoughts Allowing me to think clear We have separate evils Mine much worse, it’s true But this new found connection Where I become one with you It alters reality Nothing will ever continue the same Because you washed away my evils My demons, my bad name You made me feel acceptable A positive mark on life Your love changed who I am Cut away the evils with a heart-shaped knife Sincerely, I thank you You have me something I never knew You accepted me bare, expressed yourself From this, I know I’ll forever love you
