Bare Truths

Is there any tall tale that I could spin or truth I could deliver that wouldn't make you question my value?

Whether or not there's a difference in the person who wakes up, face bare or the one who comes painted out of the bathroom.

Tell me, do you..do you question me, over analyzing the master piece of movements I have so rhythmically orchestrated?

does it cause you to be more and more unsure of the nature of morals that I have demonstrated?

Is that disdain that I'm tasting?

You look at me like there's a monster I'm creating.

But what if our flowers grew colorless and we were both under grey skies?

What if we both lost time?

What's the difference between you and I or is it just between your skin color and mine?

compassionate and forsaken we both come forth baring truths about what's been taken.

Why both your people and mine have been made thin.

Wide spread famine and terror hit my home, too

and human to human, I thought you should know who,

The monster is that's been created, debated, and portrayed even,

to be a people instead of an idea

Think of the vision of our freedom should we see it without government secrets,

If there weren't a hint of racism, prejudice, and intolerance in every breath we breathe in

If we gave our word to a people and decided to put worth into every breath that we breathe in

Look at every mother crumpled over her son's dead body weeping

Not a militant or murderer, but big brother to the little girl you see creeping

Around the corner every time she hears a glass break

Mistaking it for a bullet as the skin breaks

And the heart aches

Losing pools of life and love

She's always gonna remember her brother drowning in pools of blood
