Barriers

Once Upon a Time,

Cinderella twisted all the words in a sense of rhyme

Before there was the strike of midnight

Uncovered a deeper fight of flight

She thought, What is it that makes us leave the room?

Is it the silence… the lack of sleep we had the night before?

Is it the constant confusion about our necessities that we can’t find?

The ever blooming circling line that swings me around in these early mornings

The ability of a human’s energy to makes you want to escape ever so quickly…

Was it what I said?

It’s what you didn’t say…

But what can be said that isn’t already tucked away in the embarrassment of one’s interworking?

Why do we shed away from the light?

Maybe being in the darkness for so long makes you look more closely

So close that you can see the intervals of the twinkling in your eyes, that you make your own light

But what if your own light is only darkness?

Why do we run away from darkness physically but go there to escape mentally?

Hiding in the walls of your thoughts will only make the wall thicker

Barriers will be the death of me...
