People have bad days Baseball players have worse days They can get into a slump, three strikes you’re out But one does not simply compare to Willie Mays. You’ll have some days where you just don’t give a darn. You’ll those days where you’ll just swing at the first opportunity you see. You need to get in the groove of things, and contemplate where things are at. You need to stop and concentrate, and choke up on this at bat. Road blocks come hurling at you from 85 MPH. Once again, you gotta have that first pitch come to you, like Joe Mauer. You think you can you think you can get the same opportunity with the same person. But don’t hold your breath, 2nd chances don’t come naturally to people. But if you try try try and try, this balls is keep going to hit foul. Desperation is your last attempt. You back’s to the wall, the count is 3-2 And people are counting on you to make that big play. That big play to break your slump once and for all. Once again, desperation is your last attempt, and also your last swing. Pop! Goes the bat Your emotions, feelings, and self esteem have left your body, and hopefully the ballpark. Things like this come once in a blue moon. Some things are up to chance to decide. You could square up the bat, hit the barrel, or hit it on the end. But every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Every second is very crucial. Chances like this are once in a lifetime. Too early and it’s a pop up. Too late and it’s a ground ball. But just right, you’ll hit the sweet spot and this balls not coming back! But as in the real world, objects in the mirror aren’t as they appear. And you’ll face another roadblock: a change-up. It’s the ultimate of roadblocks. You don’t expect it. You’re out of breath. And you’re just standing there in the batter’s box. And that’s strike 3, a strikeout, a k, you’re out. You head back to your seat, and to the dugout in disguise. But this experience could be a much needed wakeup call Your thoughts would be cleared. You will be calm, cool, and collected. And you will get your next at bat for your second chance. They said don’t waste your breath on second chances. But in this case you get 3-4 of them. But with that same person? Your chances are slim. But then again these are the rules of life, and of baseball. And the laws of baseball don’t apply to the real world. Or in this case, you wouldn’t see the signs.
