The Basic of Love

To all who came before me

To all who fell behind

Watch your steps carefully

‘Cause love will make you blind

Never take shortcuts

Never run the mile

Always stay in between

The papers of love’s file

Keep your distance from the start

Try to stay away from the end

And watch out for the saying

“I just want to be your friend.”

For not all love is good

For not all love is bad

Just hope you’ll never look back

On the love you once had...
