Basketball

Not just a sport,

A lifestyle

A stress reliever

Not something that’s “every once in a while”

Every day, every week

Basketball is always number one

Better be ready for some competition

Ball up on you, and your grandson

LeBron, D-Wade, Derrick Rose, Kobe

Back when the NBA was actually decent

But don’t ever think they get millions to do nothing

Balling out each and every season

The sweat blood and tears that I put into this game

Always put your teammates first

Nothing’s better hearing your name

Getting called in the starting lineup

Getting my hands on the leather

Not many things better

This game is everything to me

My poem to basketball, a love letter
