Basketball in Life

When a basketball is made it is flat and has no purpose

Until a young boy comes and breathes life into the ball

Dribbling, shooting, and swishing all day and into every late night

The boy and the ball grow older together; the ball being dirtied and the boy coming into his prime

At some time the ball loses some of it's bounce however the young man still continues to pound pound pound his most prized possession

The young man holds a dream close to his heart telling himself he will make it to the NBA

Whenever there are rough patches in his life he always turns back to that ball because when he shoots it's an intimate feeling

Just him, his ball, and the hoop; everything else fades away

When his dream comes true he comes to a conclusion, basketball taught him the sweetest things in life

If you put your mind to something you can accomplish anything
