The Bathtub Is Empty

The bathtub is empty,
the water’s all gone
It could be nighttime, it could be dawn…
I stare up at the ceiling
Whose tiles are peeling
For I let this place crumple
With such numbed feeling...

The fan is turned off,
But I still feel the chill
As the air wreaks with silence
I start to feel ill...

I have no control
Over who I become
Over who I'll end up with
When the game is done

I have no control
Over my friends or my life
It's laid out before me
Throughout constant strife
No control of the food I consume
No control what I do with my room
In my mind and its marbles
Polished and round
Selected by doctors
Before I could utter a sound...
Marbles now scattered too far to collect
I stare up at this ceiling
So full of neglect

The bathtub is empty,
The marbles are gone,
My life is beyond me,
The battle is won.
