Battered
Useless
Discarded
Forgotten
I see him lying there
Just minutes after he tossed me aside
Shouts of spirited boys
Shouts of pain
and shouts of pride
My master was one of them
Tall, lean, and leather-clad
I made him look the part
but his heart wanted more
Was yearning for more
This rumble was a ticket
A ticket to power.
The rain poured down and
thunder roared like the tiger patched to my arm
The ground was slick
and with an elbow to the neck
He shattered.
The spirited boys ran
leaving my master and I here
Battered
Discarded
and forgotten.
