The Battle Inside

Earth trembling from explosions,

Air torn by bullets.

Opposing sides collide

In an attempt to make their enemy subside.

The battle has only begun

And yet the morning sun

Shines upon the devastation

Caused by the manifestation

Of indifference.

Death hovers over the battle

As soldiers are slaughtered like cattle.

Bodies drop,

Guns pop,

And it never stops.

As the battle goes on,

The pain is only prolonged.

But this battle is one

That can be overcome.

This battle is inside all of us

Which is why we all must

Take control of what is right

and take control of the fight.

We must not falter or hide,

For this is The Battle Inside.
