The Battle Within

Life is a battlefied, and I am a soldier

We are all soldiers in this war of life

Some may be weaker and end as one of the thousands on the causalty list

Others are much stronger and may live to see the victory of the war

This war we all fight may not always be physical

Many of us are trapped, prisoners in our own bodies

We scream, but no one hears

People surround us eveywhere, yet we are so alone

Empty, hollow

We're numb; too many battles fought alone

This is a war; the battefield is my mind

My soul feels weaken, my heart cries out

The grounds are ruined; my body bruised, broken and sore

This war rages on; there is no end

I am the only soldier on the front line and feel oh so unprepared for combat

A nation, though, does not win wars with just one person

They enlist an army of soldiers

When I recruit my soldiers, I know God will always be there to help me fight my battles

The war and feeling of loneliness is only an illusion

When I allow the enemy behind my lines, that is when it becomes my reality
