Battles

They said she was dying, six months max.

She fought like a bull, while preying for a miracle.

As time passed, her opponent grew in strength.

She grew brittle and weak.

She felt like a ship sinking beneath the waves.

She was drowning in sorrow and fear.

Her tears were filling her boat, she would soon capsize.

Her opponent was one punch away from winning the battle.

She prepared herself, for soon she would fall into the abyss.

Yet her miracle came.

Someone else threw the punches in her honor, winning her long fought battle.

She was no longer dying.

Yet she still fights battles.
