The Battles I'm Losing
I'm surrounded by people but drowning in solitude.
I'm wanting to talk but nobody's willing to listen.
I'm fighting the battles that I will never win.
I'm upset at the little things.
I push away everyone that gets close.
I'm fighting the battles that I will never win.
I say no to hanging with friends just because.
I wait for the moment to get home and lock myself in my room.
I'm fighting the battles that I will never win.
I'm tired of nothing, yet tired of everything.
I want it to be easy because everything is so difficult.
I'm fighting the battles that I will never win.
I yell at people who did nothing wrong.
I get upset over the stupidest things.
I'm fighting the battles that I will never win.
I cry too often.
I'm permanently upset.
Why am I fighting the battles that I will never win?
But then I step back and look at life as a whole,
because that's only a half and two halves make up one soul.
I say to myself the dark doesn't last forever,
I'm bound to find light because life's an endeavor.
I can see through my tears a life that's happy,
a life that I'm craving and wanting so badly.
When I step back further I see I'm happier than I've been,
and now I'm fighting my battles but I'm seeming to win.
