Should I go for it? I could if I wanted to. I would if things would stay the same, But I know that they'll change. My feet carry me down to the lake Where we used to play I think about things in perspective As I look down at my reflection... Is this who I am? Do I wanna be anybody else? Cause I hold the key. Should I feel this empty? From this point on everything I need Won't just be handed right to me. I wish I could see Who I need to be. I hole your hand as tight as I can. Don't want to let go, can't you understand? I'm only six, don't leave me here to stay. First grade will just have to wait...but then you say: Don't be afraid, this is who you are. Please don't cry, you've gotten this far. I know it'll be hard. But this is life, things have to change Even if you want them to stay the same. But please, for me Be who you need to be. So with a courage deep inside. I walk through the door, leaving you behind. Why can't I make you that proud once again By taking this chance? Is this who I am? Do I wanna be anybody else? Cause I hold the key. Should I feel this empty? From this point on everything I need Won't just be handed right to me. I think now I see Who I need to be.

Anica Stemper

I love to write poetry, and usually make them into songs. Playing guitar, singing, and writing are my three passions. I have no idea how I would live without them.
