To be a writer, An illustrator, A designer, To be a dreamer. It takes something different, A little something that needs to be nurtured and Cared for. It takes Character, and imagination and creativity- passion, love, and dedication. To Be that person that takes their chosen field to heights previously unknown, You need loyalty to the cause. To have access to the tools of your trade; Paper, pencil, computer, photoshop. But more importantly- Perhaps the thing we need the most, Is support from our peers and our mentors. The sense of belonging that can only be found in the like minded The comfort and care we experience When we can Laugh freely And Write anything- Talk and create everything. The things that other groups And cliques Students, Teachers and sometimes family Just don’t understand. To be proud of the Time spent and effort used To create something magical. A written work A magizine design A one of a kind piece of Art. Hours and days of planning Drafts written, discarded, and then unfolded and started over Red pens and harsh comments Seeking to pour a simple piece of soul To uncover depths of hidden heart To show a dream To be a writer, An illustrator, A designer, To be a dreamer. To know We are learning and shining, and being the absolute best we can be Because we have what it takes We have what we need And we our backed by the minds of supportive individuals who UNDERSTAND.
