Be on Alert

Life is never what you think it will be-

things twist, turn, and morph

into an unrecognizable monster.

It consumes everything- your hopes,

loves, dreams, and any peace of mind

you might have.

The monster isn't green and seven feet

tall, rather it is unassuming and camouflaged.

It works it's way into your core- it sinks in through

your skin, the roots attaching themselves to your

veins and eventually isolating your heart.

The only way to stop this is by always making time

to weed and nurture yourself.

Without taking care of you the monster will win and

the only thing left of you will be a

dried out husk.
