To Be a Fish

Oh, I wish I could be a fish

to float and swim around all day

to be a fish would be easy

but then I could not love

I'd be like Ariel

caught in another world

separated from the one I love

but, then I already am

The distance is like the ocean

Far, wide, and difficult to cross

being me is not so bad

if only we could close the gap

once we are together

we could be like fish

float on happiness, swim in joy

until then I'll watch my Beta

and think about my someday
