Be Happy

Wake up every morning knowing

How blessed you are.

God woke you up this. He didn't have to, but he did.

God gave you vision today. He didn't have to, but he did.

He gave you the ability to hear. He gave you the power to feel. He didn't have to, but he did.

Think of the aging woman next to you. Think

Of her last visit to the eye doctor. Think of

How your features are completely undefined

Without the help of the thick lenses perscribed to her. You have the ability to look into her eyes and see glimpses of her soul.

You have the ability to see the color of the sky, the light in the faces of your loved ones.

You do not remember any of this until it is you that is the aging woman with the eyes of a

Curious adolescent staring at you thoughtfully.

Be happy.

Use your young eyes to view the world.

Notice the negative. Notice how without it, the picture you see wouldn't be so beautiful.

Think of the last conversation you had withyour mom.

Think of her voice; the sound of love and pain moving like silk ribbons around the words she spoke.

You heard her. But what we all forget is that it is easy to hear...

Close your eyes, open your mind, flood your heart,

And Listen.
