To Be Heard

Surrounded by four faces,

round not square

They have eyes, they have ears,

as they stare they hear

They have thieved those of

my mother, my friends,

and my foes

As their ears are numb

I can still wiggle my toes

I look up, down, towards both sides

at my four true friends

In this space I've cried, laughed, and loved.

And nothing besides Me, Myself, I, and You.

can dismantle our post.

Destroy our fort.

Though they wouldn't hear,

'cause they never listen.
