To Be Honest

I'm not a real poet.

I 'm just a broke college student,

Looking for an easy way to get out of debt.

I'm not a real poet.

I just want to avoid taking out loans,

working five jobs, and selling my own soul.

I've never written a real poem before

while my poem isn't that deep,

I just hope it gets to the point.

but I'd rather do this than

strip my way through college.

Believe it or not, what I'm saying is true,

its easy to get in debt but

its hard to get out too.

To be honest,

I'll do anything to get through college

even if I have to acknowledge

the fact that

I am not a real poet.
