To Be Human

As the earth orbits

Why do I go the exact opposite

Why is there resistance

I go the distance

And fall off the edge

Of the world

Through Mars and stars

Distant galaxies

Collide like Hendrix in Woodstock of '69

A canine rabid and fierce

Barking at nobody

My lost cause

The cause of my loss

Must break free from the leash

Must heal all wounds

Make peace with thyself

Transcend above the cocoon

They say it takes courage to be gentle and kind

I say it takes courage to be human
