Be Known

For once I'd like to be known.

Not by a glance,

Or even by chance,

But by having my strong qualities shown.

I didn't want to be liked for my face,

Nor what I wore,

I didn't want to be see as a whore;

Even though no one's a perfect ace.

I guess I just didn't want to be judged,

Seen like an outsider or creep;

So I said no word, no peep

Until finally I got a nudge.

My true strong qualities were shown

I was liked and cared for,

That's all I could ask for,

All I want is to be known.
