Be Me
Malicious thoughts begin to rear their ugly heads,
As they try to taint the dreams of a once innocent life.
Sore wrists begin to scar,
As menacing itches threaten not to stop.
Silent tears run down cold cheeks,
As a life is slowly being trapped behind its own shield.
Frozen hands try to tear a hole,
Large enough to spill its secrets,
But the hole keeps closing,
Before the secrets can be shared.
They taunt this young life,
Day and night,
Never to let it rest,
Never to let it feel free,
Never to let it see the light of an open life.
Always to be stuck in the darkness.
Always thinking of ways to escape.
Always wondering how to let everyone know,
It's me.
It's me who is trapped.
It's me who is unable to live an opne life.
Unable ot share my secrets.
Unable to escape,
and live the life I've always wanted.
One where I can be honest.
One where I can be free,
of the tainted dreams.
Be free,
of the itchy wrists and silent tears.
To once again feel free,
of the numbness of frozen hands,
and finally be able to tear down my shields.
To once again,
Be me.
