Be Nice

We are all taught as small children,

We need to be nice to others.

It is as easy as it sounds,

But it’s so often forgotten.

Angry people hit and others scream.

Even worse; the tells that can’t be told,

As victims lay in the shallow ground;

Forgotten by the world all around.

If I had the power to change one thing,

It’d be the countless number of abused.

Husbands that beat, and mothers that torture.

Children that cry, and people that suffer.

Hiding in the dark in fear and shame,

Afraid of what each new day will bring.

Watching each step, not saying a word

In hope that they escape unscathed

Helping these unfortunate souls

Feel the love and respect they need

And show them how special they are

It can make our world brighter
