To Be or To Become
To Be or To Become
We were told we could be anything when we were young
It wasn’t about the money if we had fun
“Do what you love”, “Create”, “Inspire”, “Enjoy freedom”
As we grew older, things became slum
Reality sunk in, tables turned, it wasn’t awesome
It was all about the deadlines, school, so we won’t be “dumb”
We were told to get married, to find a husband that was handsome
Days to Months, Months to Years, Winters to eventually autumn
Now, money was mandatory, “The fun and games are over”, is the new anthem
The era when generation no longer cared for jobs, but only income
No education, disrespectfulness, illegal wrong-doings were their “item”
After a while, the known morals became random
And the truths of having jobs brought boredom
Actually working to earn money became something people could no longer fathom
Just rhyme or have rhythm and that’ll bring you stardom
Here lies the 21st century, Welcome!
Where being original and showing leadership is seldom
Follow me, I’ll try to show you my way of running the system
Find your light, be yourself; don’t fall victim
