To be a Real Boy: Pinocchio

Mon, 07/08/2019 - 15:13 -- sri114

he wanted to be a real boy

less screws and plastic bits

less tiny brokenness

he wanted to be a real boy

more thick skin and hard angles

more free of these shackles

he wanted to be a real boy

stitches fading into silver scars

moonlike skin and eyes like stars

he wanted to be a real boy

prayers no longer so strong

a nose short and limbs long

he wanted to be a real boy

but he and she, one in the same

she is his prison

and he has her name
