Be Still
I search for answers that don't need to be found.
I fight for people who don't need to be around.
I listen to others who make me doubt.
But Jesus is the one it should be about.
Constantly, I think about the past.
I know now that what happened will not be the last.
Even when I feel these pains,
I know God's blood runs through my veins.
The spirit dwells within me.
There shall be no envy.
I can get through this.
No... I WILL.
I just have to BE STILL.
Jesus has my back.
There's just something I lack.
Trust in men is forever gone.
I need strength and the power of song.
Sweet gospel melodies fill my ears.
Then in my eyes comes the tears.
Back to the memories of that night,
I will never understand the point of that fight.
I pray everything will work out for me and you.
I still have a heart and I hope you do too...
Don’t you dare think this is the end.
It’s the beginning and God is going to mend.
Have you felt His power?
Now is the hour.
It's time to arise.
Wipe those eyes.
Don't be in a sad state.
God will open a gate.
Things will turn around.
It won't be normal but it will be sound.
Look to God and be still.
Everything will be alright, I know it will.
Trust in Him and believe.
And there's nothing you can't achieve.
Things will never be the same.
It's wild and untamed.
Good memories enter my head.
I don't want to sleep in my bed.
Tears come to my eyes.
Everything I knew was lies.
This is the only thing I can think of to keep me away.
In the back of my mind I wish I could say.....
Change of subject, don't go down that path.
Focus on homework, really hard math.
Focus on Jesus the light of my day.
Listen to all He has to say.
Be still.
Be still.
Be still.
