Be True to Oneself

The warrior was taught

To soar in the sky like a hawk

To run free like the buffalo

And not be so quick to talk

The warrior was taught

Listen to the creek’s whisper

Not the old men who sulk

And you will hear all the crisper

The warrior was taught

Forgive a hundred times more

Never say a bad word

And don’t let the snake be your lure

The warrior was taught

Be true as a feather is blue

Warrior be as strong as a boar

Warrior happiness will be due
