The Beach
A warm breeze brushes on my face
that I can almost taste.
Laughter all around
but no one to be found.
The warm sand between my toes
and the way the water flows.
Life simple and carefree
I wish it could be.
An escape to fairy tale dreams
that we will stay teens.
Seasons change in a year
which I do fear.
The summer sun fades away
for the last day.
Another year past
oh I wish this would last.
The embrace of summer stays
while the memory strays.
For life will turn sad
then go mad.
Months later the sun will rise
we have won our surprise.
Swimsuits and sun block
to the beach we flock.
The joy rushes in
I wish this does not have to end.
