The Beach

Warm water

Crashes onto the shore

Approaching my feet

Taunting me

Jump in

It’ll be fun

But you may never want to come back

Welcoming waves

Splash against me

Laughing at me for staying so long on the shore

Where my pain meets my joy and leaves me lifeless

As I long

For my troubles

To sail away

And lift me into the sea
