Beach Days

Summer's subtle symbols

Floating through the sunlight,

The scene is serene

Like the fallen sail drifting on the lake.

A rushing wind cascades over the sea,

Soothing the swimmers wading in the waters.

Sitting on the stand,

The ocean's servant watches, listens,

Soaks in the singer's sweet notes.

Such a beautiful sound, the shutters of your camera,

Snapping these moments as if they'll last forever.

The shining sun, the stolen silver dollar,

The shocking scent of his sincere apology;

All creating the thousand-watt smiles we share,

The smile that will be remembered for years to come.

I sat on this beach, observing as birds flew.

I sat on this beach, remembering you.
