The Beach isn't safe

The Beach isn’t Safe

I said rest and you thought beach

It’s really not the same, believe me

You said it brings calm, but calm won’t last

It’s only temporary, and now it’s the past

It’s not a vacation, it’s just a place

It’s super dangerous, with no escape

The sand I once walked on, the sand I played in

The same sand burns my feet, it traps me when it caves in

I’m scared to get attached, so I stay far away

But once I let go is when it really starts to call my name

The beach loves me, it calls me in

I hate going, but I always cave in

It only relieves stress, it doesn’t take stress away

So the stress builds up, day by day

The beach may be pretty, but it’s just an illusion

Sand spills into the sea, it’s really just pollution

Yes, the waves may be nice, but they lull you to sleep

It’s just a wall to stop you from experiencing

You think you’re fine, you think you’re safe

But once you’re in, there’s no escape

You’ve slept to long for time to heal

You forgot how to cope, forgot how to feel

I love you so much it hurts

But then to see you replace me with her

I want you to hate me, to hurt, and mistreat

So it’ll get easier to leave, let go of the beach

The beach is deceitful, full of lies and tricks

Now I avoid the one thing I used to love as a kid

Don’t go to the beach, it’s a big mistake

You’ll find yourself trapped, like a bird in a cage

Don’t go to the beach, you’ll never escape

Yet with wide open arms, La playa awaits
