Bears In The Ballroom

Unclear how this all came about PT Barnum has stolen the throne Disheartened by so many lights on Knowing that there's nobody home Somehow the oracles were wrong The impossible became the real The bears are in the ballroom This new day has a whole new deal Hard to laugh and shrug it off So many like minds speaking out Could this really be the truth? Is this what our world is about? Dancing among nobility Accepted as though they belong The bears they spin and jitterbug Balllroom decorum gone all wrong How far down the road til doom? With hollow heartless leading "all" Forced to drown in all the pride That comes before the greatest fall They try and dance like everyone Though the asymmetry is clear Who let the bears in the ballroom? Why does the end smell so damn near? Huff and bluster sells some seats Those who think will not attend They will not allow the blind To escort them to their end All done with ballroom manners Tearing free from gowns and vests True nature unleashed on display Being just bears, they eat the guests
