the beast of burden
when you feel like an animal in clothes
path unsure, but you can follow your nose
or your heart
the human thing to do
if you close your eyes the beast will tear into you
slashing at hope, fear, and flesh
the beast will always devour your best
making you wonder if you really are sane
or if you are just playing the game
will you jump into the sickness with both feet?
or fight the beast with nails and teeth?
we are all afraid to die,
but sometimes unsure how to live.
